At Michigan Avenue Baptist Church, worship is one of our principles of ministry.  We believe the act of worship ascribes worth to God.  Our church provides everyone the opportunity to experience worship to God in a loving and spirit-filled atmosphere with music, praise, giving, and the Gospel.  All ages can participate in a variety of music and ministry programs, whether you're a member of our church or a visiting guest.

 

Adults participate in the choir each Sunday morning and, occasionally, on Sunday evenings.  We utilize the typical 4-part harmony choral structure.  Our songs include a variety of blended styles ranging from Southern Gospel, Hymns, Contemporary, and Praise & Worship led by the Minister of Music, Tim Edawrds. Rehearsals are provided each Sunday evening at 5 p.m.  Currently, we're practicing for our Easter Musical!

 

 

Children can get involved through our Kid's Praise Choir music program led by Lisa King and Emma Jo Soward.  The Kid's Praise Choir rehearses each Sunday evening at 5 p.m., which is at the same time as the adult choir rehearsal.  Our children sing each Sunday evening during the 6 p.m. Service.  Their singing puts a big smile on everyone's face!

 

 

 

 

If God has blessed you with a talent of playing a musical instrument, we offer you the opportunity to participate in our music program and worship.  We currently use piano, drums, guitars, percussion, and a variety of brass horns and woodwind instruments.  If you would like to play, please see Tim Edwards to learn how your talent can be used for the Lord!
